No one else can see what it's like in the hell behind my eyes. No one can see the pain and sorrow. No one else can see what it's like in the deep pit of my soul. No one can see the loneliness. No one else can see what it's like in the recesses of my mind. No one can see the loathing and self hatred. No one else can see what it's like in the shell left of my heart. No one can see the fact it's full of all but me. No one else can see what it's like to live a day as me. No one can see the suffering I'm forced to endure.

How is it that we, supposedly mature adults, cannot accept the fact that people have different opinions. How is it that we, who buy our own groceries and cook our own meals, still act like preschool children when people have different opinions. How is it that we, a generation who claims to be accepting, can lose our friends, because people have different opinions. How is it that we, a group of broken people, can break each other even more, as people have different opinions. How is it that we, parents of the next generation, can teach our children well, when we fight over different opinions.

I'm lost in this world of hate, pain and hurt, with seemingly no way out. I am enveloped in this pain, wrapping around me ever tighter. There is no escape from this crushing despair, stopping me from feeling free. What escape is there for me? I have lost the light again. I have no freedom. I don't know who I am anymore. I need a way out. I need the pain to end. I need the weight lifted from me. But how? I have been duct taped together so many times, but sometimes even duct tape is ineffective. My walls get weaker all the time, I'm not the strong person I once was. I just need to escape... but how?

Some days I just feel so lost, so stuck in a rut, so trapped. All I want is to be free, free from this cloud that is always over me. Free from my past, for which I blame myself. Free from this world of constant hurt and pain. But there is no escape. Not from memories. Not from this blanket of despair, this blanket which tightens every time I struggle, struggle for that freedom, that light, that hope I see in the distance but can never quite reach. Maybe one day I will reach that light, but every time I feel closer it moves again, like chasing rainbows.

Freedom! Its so happy and safe and free! Time without constant controls or criticisms. The feeling of being lost and hurt temporarily hidden from the world. Happiness! Freedom creates happiness. Time and space to be free means time and space to do things that create happiness. Life lived with freedom creating happiness is never ending joy. Personal joy brings joy to others. Wow ok so I've been a deviant for about 3 and a half years now. So much has changed. I've gone through barely using DA, to only using DA to see my friends art work, to putting up (really bad) prose, to inviting my irl friends to DA, to starting to write in depth (I hope) poetry. SO because I'm bored its late and I have an exam tomorrow I worked out which piece of my writing posted on here was most popular. This is done by number of Favs divided by number of views, comments weren't taken into account. So My most popular piece with a percentage of 22% was delete closely followed by Childhood treatment at 21%. My least popular pieces are The open letter to the use of the word depressed and I wish I was that me again, both with no favourites therefore 0%. Due to having comments as opposed to none I'd say the open letter to the word depressed is more popular of the 2. Thank you for listening to my bored rant :D

Thanks for the llama

I knew a llama once. At least I thought I knew him. I mean, how well can anyone really know anyone, much less a llama. With their air of mystery and thinly veiled contempt. It’s hard. But I digress.

His name was Kevin. But for reasons I will never understand, he would only ever answer to Albert. Identity issues aside, things started out okay. The usual introductory sniffing and sneezing went well, despite his allergies, but then things started going downhill during the ritual licking phase of the pleasantries. We pushed through. And had it not been for the spitting, we might have even been able to make it work, but alas, after just 3 seconds of bittersweet brotherhood, we finally decided to part ways. It’s kind of sad, when you think about it. Spitting seems like such an innocent thing to fight over, but he was pretty adamant that I should stop and that was just never going to happen. We might have overcome that issue, but Kevin, like all llamas, was very competitive. First came the stench competitions. Then it was belching contests. And lastly, a painstaking count to see which one was hairier. You can clearly see why our relationship was doomed. The poor fellow was a bit of a sore loser.

So he snuck out, taking with him a failed friendship, an obliviously optimistic dread of the future, and my sixth favorite toothbrush. Now that he is gone, I can honestly say, it's for the best. He was too much of a chick magnet anyway and who needs that poultry drama?
